Note from “Lensworth™”
When selecting the pictures for this book, I often had to choose between technical
quality and emotional power. Emotion won out almost every time. Many of my animal
shots feature the subject looking directly at the viewer. To my eye, that draws the reader into the picture, creating an interaction between the reader and the picture. The animal becomes animated. Some of the images I chose were influenced by how many likes they received on Facebook. After all, what you see in these pictures is far more important than what I see.
I have a tendency to be didactic, which poses a special challenge in a book of pictures.
The pictures have to deliver the message and the lesson. The best example is my
intentional choice of the pics with the yellow/orange colorway.
